In the beginning……… It started with "Soothing"

Quite a few years ago, I bought a burn ointment from a health, homeopathic store made from Calendula. I bought it because, at the time, I was working for a dental office and many of the staff were getting burned from the sterilization units. This ointment was amazing. The staff found the pain was gone in minutes after applying, and they could return to work, even running the burned area under water. I couldn’t keep the ointment in the office, IT KEPT DISAPPEARING!

Again, this Calendula ointment proved to be worth its weight in gold, and a life saver. It was a couple of years later, my sister had been carrying a pan of hot grease that she dumped all over her stomach. She was in a 2-piece bathing suit at the time and was severely burned. She refused to go the hospital. I received the call and brought over the ointment. When she returned to work a couple of days later, she had to visit the medical unit. They informed her that she had 2nd and 3rd degree burns. This was several years ago and she never did scar.

I was unable to find this ointment again. I did some research and found out that calendula comes from marigolds. I was growing marigolds in my yard, so I made some of this "soothing" ointment for myself. I have been making this ointment ever since.

I had never put much thought into making Soothing till my 13 year old grandson was over with a burn. I sent him to get the ointment (Soothing) and apply it to his hand. The next thing I know, he is running outside yelling to me, “Grandma, do the doctors know about this? The doctors should know about this cream”.

One of my sisters’ friends gave it to her neighbor who had shingles this summer and was willing to try anything for the pain. You guessed it- no more pain and she refused to return the ointment.

This is truly an incredible ointment that EVERY household should have in their first aid kit. I will never be without it and neither will my family.
